DIY nail oil

Hello You,

Have you ever struggled with brittle nails and dry cuticles? Or are you simply trying to use more natural cosmetics? Or do you just really love DIY stuff? Then you’ve come to the right place! This DIY nail oil uses extra virgin olive oil as the base, wich is one of the best natural beauty supplements you can find out there. It is full of minerals and vitamins A and E, wich keep your nails elastic and hydrated. It furthermore helps to regenerate skin and nail cells and it’s a perfect cuticle softener. Plus, it gives your nails a beautiful and natural shine. So to put it in a nutshell, extra virgin olive oil is just the perfect beauty product

LET’S GET STARTED!

1. Grab yourself an empty nail polish bottle. Make sure to properly clean it with nail polish remover before you use it for the nail oil. There shouldn’t be any residual nail polish left.

2. Remove the label and put on a sticker with your own design.

3. Next, take some aluminum foil and try to shape it into a funnel. We are going to use it to pour our oil into the prepared bottle.

4. Take an organic lemon and zest it. You’ll need less than half a teaspoon per bottle, so don’t be too generous. The lemon zest helps to whiten your nails, strengthen them and it also adds a pleasant scent to your finished product. But make sure it’s organic- you don’t want any pesticides or chemicals for your nails and skin!

5. Put a tiny bit of your lemon zest to your nail polish bottle.

6. Put your aluminum foil funnel on top of your bottle and fill it with high quality extra virgin olive oil. I am using one of my favourite Italian olive oils I bought last summer, it’s from Castello d’Albola. I wrote down the link to where you can buy it online right below. It is also great for salads, crostini, pasta or basically everything. It tastes so amazingly strong! It’s fruity, nutty and a bit bitter- just perfectly balanced! (Not sponsored by the way!)

7. Now you are basically done, you just need to let your finished nail oil infuse for at least 5 days. Make sure to shake it every now and then!

8. When you’re ready to use it, brush some on your nails and cuticles and leave it to soak in for a little, around 8-10 minutes. After that time, grab a Q-tip to massage your cuticles, but also to wipe of the excess oil. I’d suggest doing this everyday to keep your nails strong and healthy.
